This is a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion (U.K.). This is a first editon (First Impression) of the original British export printing of Tolkien's in-depth exploration of the world he created.
Published by George Allen & Unwin in 1977.
This hardcover book is in good vintage condition, but there are a few flaws:
First of all, the map is not included in this book (normally there's a folded up map in the back of the book...again, that's missing with this copy).
The dustjacket is in good shape..no tears; there's chipping (mostly at the bottom), and there is a large discoloration on the inside of the jacket (mostly at the top); this seeps into the front of the back flap.
The book itself is also in very good vintage conditon. The boards are pretty clean, the pages inside are clean and intact. There are small stains on the outside of the pages (opposite spine).
The outside of the pages on the top are blue.
